YOU CAN'T PUT GOD ON TRIAL

Yesterday it was reported that a number of rabbinical masterminds in Israel were putting the blame of the fire in the north on God. Shas spiritual rabbi implies fire raging in northern Israel result of ‘desecration of Shabbat’. Haredi newspapers say disaster ‘a warning sign’, call for personal and public self-scrutiny.

Palestinian Prime Minister, Ismael Haniyeh added his voice to this nonsense by stating that  "Allah is punishing Israelis for 'what they did,' during emergency prayers in Gaza City to ask for rain".

These 'accusations' create a dilemma for Israel.... you can't put God on trial, so a culprit had to be found. What better place to search for one but the closest Arab village in the vicinity.... and search they did....
Police forces arrested Saturday two brothers from the Druze village of Isfiya who are suspected of being responsible for the act of negligence which started the massive fire that was still raging in the Carmel in northern Israel.
The two brothers, 16, were taken for investigation by Central Police Unit detectives on Saturday, who believe the brothers lit a fire near their home in the western part of Isfiya which spread and ultimately set the entire Carmel ablaze. (FROM)
So now the finger pointing begins.... who is to blame? Was it those kids from the above mentioned village or was it Israel's Minister of the Interior, Eli Yishai? There are now calls for his resignation as a result of the blaze. His fellow party members are claiming that  Yishai is being persecuted partly due to the fact that he is ultra-Orthodox, right-wing and Mizrahi.

The Ashkenazi led country seems set on putting the actual blame either on a Palestinian or a Sephardic Jew. Heaven forbid they look at the real cause, the fact that none of the billions of dollars they receive in foreign aid was used for firefighting equipment in an arid area which is prone to these types of disasters. Instead of looking for enemies or creating them as Israel does, it should be better prepared to combat the actual enemy, the very unnatural terrain of the land itself. Israel is as artificial and foreign a nation as the trees it planted over the past six or seven decades. Not only was the entire nation of Palestine uprooted for its creation, so were the olive trees that adorned and fed the inhabitants for centuries, replaced by pine trees. But the story here goes far deeper.  The fire in northern Israel is far from being a coincidence. Israel’s rural landscape is saturated with pine trees. These trees are totally new to the region. They were not there until the 1930’s. The pine trees were introduced to  the Palestinians landscape in the early 1930s  by the Jewish National Fund (JNF) in an attempt to  ‘reclaim the land’ . By 1935, JNF had planted 1.7 million trees over a total area of 1,750 acres. Over fifty years, the JNF planted over 260 million trees largely on confiscated Palestinian land. It did it all in a desperate attempt to hide the ruins of the ethnically cleansed Palestinian villages and their history. (From an earlier post)

Bottom line is that God appears to be 'innocent' after all.... the real 'culprit' is Israel itself!
