PA foreign ministry: American veto provides cover for more occupation massacres

Gaza - The PA foreign ministry has condemned the US veto at the UN Security Council to abort the Arab resolution calling for an end to Israeli occupation hostilities against the Gaza Strip.

Taher Al-Nunu, the ministry spokesman, said, "We denounce the USA's unethical position, which blocked practical steps to end the Zionist aggression on the Palestinian lands and encourages the Zionist government to commit more massacres in lines of the Palestinian citizens".

He held the American administration and the Israeli government responsible for any consequences of the Israeli military "escalation and crimes".

The use of the American veto at the UNSC calls upon the Arab, Islamic and friendly countries along with all peace-loving people of the world to find the necessary mechanism and means to check the Zionist invasion and to save the Palestinian people from the escalating Zionist aggression, according to the ministry spokesman.

Shifting to the Israeli onslaught on Lebanon, Nunu said that his ministry favors resorting to reason and negotiations in order to exchange prisoners as the sole solution to the current situation.

For its part, the right of return center in Nablus addressed a message to the world asking for immediate intervention to halt the Israeli oppression and repression exercised on both the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples.

The center lashed out at the American administration for using its veto right to abolish a resolution calling on Israel to halt its aggression on the Strip and to release all kidnapped PA minister and lawmakers.
