Longtime Washington journalist Helen Thomas abruptly retired Monday, according to her employer, Hearst News Service.
The 89-year-old Thomas, dean of the White House press corps, leaves amid a brewing controversy over remarks she made about Israel and Palestinians.
I don't know why Thomas, known for her confrontational questioning, apologized for comments that were captured on video and have spread widely on the Internet. On the May 27 video, Thomas says Israelis should "get the hell out of Palestine," suggesting they go to Germany, Poland or the U.S.
The Hearst announcement came shortly after White House press secretary Robert Gibbs called her remarks "offensive and reprehensible."
Mr Gibbs, Mr Obama, Memebers of the U.S.A Congress who support Israel: what is offensive and reprehensible is the fact that you care more about Israel and serve Israel and Corporate Whores more then you are serving Americans. Finally a woman in media speaks her mind. She should be given medals and you all on the other hand and those in the American Government with duelcitizenships (Israel/U.S.A) should be brought up on treason charges.
What you fail to realize the world is finally starting to wake up and more and more people will speak out. Helen Thomas is a fine example for others to follow and finally when members of society start speaking out, (especially those in media) there might be change that is better for all parties involved. Unlike the treatment that Palestinians are getting from the world Governments (The United States, Canada, and elsewhere) right now that only favors Israel and leaves the Palestinians to rot in hell.
Like I say time and time again: it is time for the American Government to come clean on Israel/Palestine and with you Mr Obama finally show the world the Real Change you talked about before coming President. Show us that Israel is not running the Government especially when it comes to Middle East Affairs. Show us that there is such a thing as rule of law and justice can be applied even when it comes to Israel. Until that day I guess I will keep dreaming and you will always be that puppet on strings for Israel.
