PA: Israel grants permanent residency to 3,500 in W. Bank
High Court: Labor laws to apply to Palestinians in settlements
The bigger picture is that Israel is planning and operating to convert from an occuping force to ruling force in the west bank.
In other words, Israel is slowly taking over major part of the west bank implementing the "Israeli low" in those territories, side by side with expanding the settlements and demolishing Palestinian houses, issuing Israeli I.D. to some of the Palestinian residence, … next thing we will learn is that big parts of the west bank will become a "legally Israeli territory": maps will be changed again, support campaigns will be set in Israel and overseas (like the J.N.F and U.J.A campaigns).
The bottom line is: we will lose the chance to see a free and independent Palestinian state in the west bank and Gaza strip!
If we could be more practical and forget about the big dream of Palestine as a big country, we may be able to save some of the Palestinian land for Palestinian state.
I think a peace agreement based on 1967 border is still a reasonable idea and will have a major support among Israelis, and some Palestinians.
We have witnessed many peace offers supporting such programs, but none of them became reality.
