Hamas: IOF troops kill 62 Palestinians wound 260 and kidnap 1164 in 5 months

The Israeli occupation troops killed 62 Palestinians in the past five months despite a truce between Palestinian resistance factions and the IOF declared on 26 November 2006, according to a Hamas report.

The report stated that during past five months: "The Zionist occupation did not stop its daily atrocities against the Palestinian as it killed 62 Palestinians including one woman, 13 children and one captive in the Negev prison."

The report also said that in the past five months, 259 Palestinians were wounded in Israeli attacks. Amongst the wounded there are 4 women, 79 children and three photo-journalists. 1164 Palestinians were kidnapped in the same period, including 96 minors, 17 fishermen off the shores of the Gaza Strip and a lawmaker.

The IOF troops also conducted 598 incursions into West Bank towns and refugee camps as well as breaches of the Gaza Strip borders. Thirty Palestinian homes as well as seven commercial and agricultural facilities were demolished and 429 dunums (1 dunum = 1000 meters).

The report also referred to specific cases such as the case of attacking two local radio stations in the southern West Bank city of al-Khalil and the case of a Palestinian woman in Nablus who was attacked by a police dog unleashed upon her by the IOF troops.

It also cites IOF raids of the Islamic University in Beit Sahour and a medical clinic in Beit Awwa to the south west of al-Khalil.

The report also mentions the unabated construction of the apartheid wall and the excavations at the Magharba Gate in occupied Jerusalem.

Hamas criticized, in the report, the world's silence towards Israeli occupation atrocities against the Palestinian people while at the same time when Palestinian resistance factions reply to the occupation atrocities by firing crude homemade missiles at occupation targets the International community wakes up and calls on Palestinians to stop the "violence".

"[It is] these double standards of the International community that encourage the occupation to continue with its atrocities against our people and continue with its colonialist policy. These double standards are a naked breach of international rules which boast equality and justice for all human beings."
