Palestine & Canadian natives - Mohawk Kahentinetha Horn beaten & hospitalized at border.

As the Palestinians are the indigenous or native people of Palestine, so too Six Nations, the Mohawks etc are the native peoples of Canada. Many Palestinians have ended up in refugee camps, many Canadian natives have ended up on reservations. Palestinians are still resisting, so too are Canadian natives. There are currently more than 600 outstanding native land claims. Once in front of Canadian courts, each land claim usually takes 20 years to be settled, but while the land claims are in the courts companies still mine their land or even build houses on it for non-native settlers. For how many years in the future do you think Palestinians will be fighting land claims in Palestine? Re the article below - In the same way that Palestinians don't recognize the wall as their new border, Canadian natives don't recognize Canada as the ruler over areas they have not ceded through treaty agreements. Kahentinetha Horn, publisher of Mohawk Nation News, was beaten by special forces at the US/Canadian border. Kahentinetha suffered a heart attack and is currently hospitalized in Canada. Katenies, who was accompanying her, was taken to prison at an undisclosed location. Please read the following message and contact the leaders of Canada and demand both women be released and justice served to the perpetrators.

Kahentinetha' s articles on sovereignty, mining on Indigenous lands, corruption and border rights have made her a priority target of the Canadian government for assassination. While on the Arizona border in November, at the Indigenous Border Summit of the Americas II, she challenged the Tohono O'odham Nation's incarceration of Indigenous migrants in the outdoor "cage," construction of the border vehicle barrier through the ceremonial route and the digging up of O'odham ancestors for the border wall by the contractor Boeing.

As the borders were increasingly militarized by Homeland Security and Canadian corporations increasingly seized Indigenous Peoples lands for mining, Kahentinetha and Katenies, were targeted with death threats.

Mohawk Elder and Grandmother, Kahentinetha Horn suffered a heart attack, Saturday, June 14, 2008 during a vicious, unprovoked assault by OPP and border agents at Cornwall, in Akwesasne community. She had been beaten and handcuffed when she collapsed. Earlier when she was pulled over, Kahentinetha immediately contacted her brother, a lawyer, on her cellphone. The entire incident was being filmed as her brother rushed to the scene just in time to call an ambulance for her.

Meanwhile, Elder and Grandmother Katenies of Akwesasne was beaten and taken prisoner to an as yet undisclosed location. We are very concerned about her safety. We demand to know of her whereabouts and that she be> released immediately. A few months ago, Julian Fantino put out the word, warning Kahentinetha not to set foot in Ontario or else. She is the publisher of MNN and regular internet reports that are very critical of police and government actions toward Indigenous people. Her articles often clearly state the legalities/realitie s of the situation that Canada is a corporation plundering unceded Turtle Island. The land and resources belong to the Ongwehoneh people. Canada's huge debt to us will bankrupt them forever.

The other day, while Stephen Harper was making a public apology to Indigenous for the crimes of the residential schools, he was also preparing to send the army in at 6 nations. Brantford city mayor has requested it, stating his city police cannot handle another "Mohawk uprising", in other words, peaceful protests against housing development where non resident, non Natives attack the protesters while the police watch. The Ontario Conservatives call for military intervention every day. On Saturday, border agents were pulling over every Native person. Kahentinetha and Katenies were traveling in Akwesasne in the course of their regular activities and were caught up in the dragnet. Did Fantino set up a trap for the two outspoken, Mohawk grandmothers? We suspect that Kahentinetha would have been killed at a secret location had she not had a heart attack and been taken to hospital. Immediately following this incident, many Mohawks and supporters started to gather at Akwesasne. Kahentinetha and Katenies' attackers want them to accept being Canadian or else they will kill them and anyone else who resists colonization. This low level warfare is playing out on the "border" between Canada and the US, an imaginary line drawn right through the Mohawk community of Akwesasne and through Haudenosaunee territory which is a vast area on BOTH sides of the Great Lakes. This Great Lakes area is also a proposed center for the NWO. Many military plans are underway including nuclear submarines in the Great Lakes and JTF2, Aerospace Warfare Center and NATO FOB (Forward Operating> Base) at a new base being built at Trenton, near Tyendinaga Mohawk community. Tyendinaga was attacked by OPP/SWAT in April when Mohawks protested housing development there. If Canadians are so damned sorry about the abuse of Native people, why is this still happening? Why do people remain silent when Mohawk elders and grandmothers are attacked like this? We are under constant surveillance> and threats and attacks while our land continues to be plundered and pillaged. Was this a failed assassination attempt ordered by Julian> Fantino, commissioner of OPP and head of the biggest gang in the area? We must demand answers and get answers. Update: Kahentinetha Horn - Mohawk Grandmothers Attacked at Canada-US Border Crossing June 16, 2008 1pm

Kahentinetha Horn has been transferred to an Ottawa hospital while the whereabouts of Katenies remain unknown. Outrage is growing in Indian country. Who will be next in the roundups? There is no doubt that this incident 'an attempt to take a human life', of Kahentinetha Horn - makes the false apology given by the Harper government to Native peoples for past tortures and maltreatment completely null and void.

Token drugstore Indians like Phil Fontaine paraded around on TV to receive this apology are all on government payrolls. They represent and speak for no one but the government. It shows the hypocrisy insidiously embedded in the Harper government.This incident was not carried out by regular border patrol personnel. It was carried out by a team of professionals who are installed at this particular border crossing for the sole purpose of apprehending Miss Horn and doing away with her permanently.

Behaviours and actions like this only come about when ordered and sanctioned by the highest levels of Harper's government and CSIS. This attempt on Miss Horn's life failed this time, but we are confident that Harper, CSIS and Fantino will continue in their efforts to silence Ms Horn forever. This attempt is just a variation of extraordinary rendition where one is whisked away to an undisclosed location, tortured and later found dead in a ditch somewhere.

CORNWALL, Ontario -- Kahentinetha Horn, 68, was handcuffed in a police stress hold at the border crossing. Kahentinetha told them she was having chest pains and to loosen the handcuffs. The officers responded by tightening the handcuffs. Kahentinetha was told to bend over in the presence of a male and female officer. She was suffering a trauma induced heart attack. During the attack Katenies, Mohawk Nation News editor, was beaten and jailed by the gang of at least 10 special forces. Kahentinetha is out of the hospital and is recovering. Please consider contributing to the legal fees for a lawsuit against the Canadian police and special forces who attacked the two Mohawk grandmothers.

To coincide with Palestine Political Prisoners Day,
the Coalition Against Israeli Apartheid ( CAIA), is
organising a fundraiser in support of the struggle of
the Ardoch Algonquin First Nation (AAFN ) against
uranium mining on their land. All proceeds will go to
the AAFN.

On February 15 2008, in a travesty of justice, AAFN
Spokesperson Robert Lovelace was sentenced in the
Ontario Superior Court of Justice in Kingston to 6
months incarceration and crippling fines amounting to
$25,000 for refusing to comply with an injunction that
would prevent him from protesting against uranium
mining on land that is part of a 25-year-old Algonquin
land claim.

In addition, the community was fined $10,000 and Chief
Paula Sherman $15,000. The AAFN and the Shabot
Obaadjiwan First Nation started their blockade of the
uranium exploration in the area in June 2007.

The highly politicized nature of these sentences
further underscores the on-going criminalization of
indigenous people's basic rights to self-determination
and the free use of their lands and resources. Just as
Israel refuses to fulfill its obligations under
international law with respect to the basic rights of
the Palestinian people (including the incarceration of
over 10,000 Palestinian political prisoners), the
Canadian government has decisively rejected its
obligations under the 'UN Declaration on the Rights of
Indigenous Peoples' and continues to incarcerate
indigenous leaders who defend the basic rights of
their peoples to self-determination. Such a right
includes the right of indigenous peoples to: "freely
determine their political status and freely pursue
their economic, social and cultural development"
(Article 3, UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous
Peoples).

The Coalition Against Israeli Apartheid (CAIA) is a
grassroots Palestine-solidarity organization which
understands Israeli apartheid as one element of a
system of global apartheid and therefore stands in
solidarity with all oppressed groups around the world,
in particular, the indigenous peoples of North
America.

There is no doubt that the cold-blooded
extermination by the Israeli air-force
of an entire Palestinian family in
Gaza on Friday, 15, was a monstrous
crime not unlike Nazi atrocities during World War II.

The only difference lies in the fact that the Nazis did it “wholesale”
while their ideological descendants, the Zionists, are doing
the same thing by retail.

What else can be said about the deliberate and premeditated bombing
from high altitudes of a residential home and the annihilation of
a man, his wife and their three children who were asleep in the dead of night?

We all know that F-16 fighters and other state-of-the-art machines of
death were designed to be used against powerful armies. However,
using them against brick houses where innocent people live is just
beyond the pale of human morality. It is not an expression of power,
it is rather an expression of cowardice and monstrosity.

It is a heinous crime added to a long list of Nazi-like crimes perpetrated
by the Jewish state which can be said with little exaggeration
to represent the Nazis of our time.

I know that there are many decent Israeli citizens and other Jews
who are kind-hearted and peace-minded and opposed to Israel’s
criminality and evilness.

However, this laudable fact doesn’t alter the more clarion
reality of the Nazi-like nature of the Israeli political-military
establishment.

Israel, a terrorist state par excellance, claims that man of the house,
Ayman Al Fayeq, was involved in acts of terror. But did that justify
exterminating his entire family and neighbors? If so, then it would
be perfectly right to murder tens of thousands of Israeli Jewish families
on the ground that some members of these families were involved in
terror and murder of the Palestinians.

Israeli apologists claim that Israel had to kill Palestinian civilians and
children in order to prevent the death of Israeli civilians and children.

But this rationale is as mendacious as it is pornographic. Mendacious
because the Palestinians pose no real threat to nuclear Israel which
also controls the politics and policies of the United States of America
and has strong influences on the governments of Western Europe.
Didn’t Sharon, the infamous certified war criminal declare a few years
ago that “we, the Jewish people, control America, and the Americans
know it?” And pornographic because oppressive regimes could resort
to this criminal logic in order to physically eliminate their respective
untermensch, blacks, Jews and Palestinians on the ground that “their
very existence pose a mortal threat to our future.”

This is what the White barbarian immigrants in North America did to
the native Americans (the American Indians) and ultimately called
it “manifest destiny.” The same thing can be said about other
“civilized” White European pioneers who used their guns and tools
of death rather liberally against the indigenous inhabitants
of the New World.

And, now Israel, which represents the ubermensch, the master-race
or chosenites, , is doing more or less the same thing to the unprotected
Palestinians, while the rest of the world is looking on passively.

This disgraceful silence, this criminal indifference, this moral outrage
is undoubtedly a reflection of the moral decadence plaguing
humanity these days.

Of course, this is not the first time Israel’s hands are stained with
the blood of the innocent, for Israel’s entire history is an interrupted
chain of crime and bloodshed.

However, the fact that these hideous crimes are committed
in full view of the world community suggests that the world is
going through a definitive process of bestializing, which really
casts a dark shadow on the future of the entire humanity.

This is sad and lamentable, not only because Palestinian kids are
being slaughtered to appease the criminal whims of the children,
grandchildren and great grandchildren of the holocaust.

The merciless daily killing of Palestinian civilians and the banal
frequency it is assuming will perpetuate the seemingly
unmitigated enmity between Arabs and Jews. Moreover,
it will make sure that Israel will remain a garrison state, living by
the sword, very much like ancient Israel did.

Just as sad is the deafening silence and/or the
enthusiastic infatuation of many Jews around the world with the
crimes of the evil state. These Jews may think that by siding with
Israel they are safeguarding the future of the Jewish people.
However, it is amply clear, as the Torah says,
that evil doers shall not prosper.

To be sure, the wanton and outrageous backing of
Israeli criminality by many Jews constitutes a real
moral tragedy for world Jewry. It also explains in a
certain way why the German masses kept silent and
looked the other way while Jews and non-Jews were
being exterminated and incinerated and starved to death.
