RAMALLAH, (PIC)-- The number of Palestinian citizens rounded up since the launch of the Israeli military campaign across different areas of the West Bank has gone up to 1004 captives so far, Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS) said in a statement Saturday.
The arrest campaign targeted 12 members of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC), bringing the number of MPs held in Israeli lock-ups to 23, PPS documented.
60 ex-detainees were also re-arrested during the campaign after being released in 2011 Shalit prisoner swap deal.
The campaign culminated in 218 administrative detention orders, doubling the number of Palestinian administrative detainees held in Israeli jails without charge or trial.
The Israeli forces rounded up 36 Palestinian civilians over the past few days in different areas of the West Bank and the 1948 occupied Palestine.
Al-Khalil hit a record high of 248 detainees, followed by 136 in Occupied Jerusalem, 114 in Nablus, 99 in Bethlehem, and 75 in Ramallah and al-Bireh.
