For the last couple of weeks I have been subjected to a torrent of emotions, ranging between anger, despair and hope. Until this moment, when I sat down to write these few words I am afraid that despair was pushing its ugly nose in front.
I am not usually prone to bouts of melancholy but I defy any living human soul not to feel dismayed and deflated, not to say crushed when witnessing the brutality that the Israeli occupying army is inflicting on Palestine and the indifference of the world as they stand by and look the other way.
As in peace, war is supposedly waged between equals. How does the stone thrown by a Palestinian child or a rocket that is put together in a shed in Gaza compare to the might of the fifth most powerful army in the world?
What I find impossible to fathom is how we could call ourselves civilized when every semblance of an ancient civilization in my homeland of Palestine is being obliterated and wiped off the face of the earth by state-of-the-art armaments and technology supplied to Israel gratis by western powers, in particular the United States of America.
Israel, since its inception has sold the world the idea that this fledgling ‘Western Democracy in the Middle East’ is surrounded by barbarians and is under ‘constant existential threat’. Nothing could be further from the truth. Western democracy? Why in the Middle East? Does this have a whiff of colonialism about it? This imaginary existential threat was coined to glue Israeli society together and to garner sympathy from the wider world by playing the defenceless victim to perfection. The Israelis are whipped to frenzy by messages of fear and loathing and the international community is brought to its knees by all and every means. From guilt to bribery to blackmail and cajoling, not forgetting deceit.
Andrew Levine, a Senior Scholar at the Institute for Policy Studies, wrote recently:
“Israel thrives on what it calls “existential threats,” fabricated perils that are just plausible enough to be believed. As social divisions mount, they help hold Israeli society together. They also keep “Diaspora” Jews on board. And they keep Western, especially American, diplomatic, military and economic support, coming.”
“BY WAY OF DECEIT THOU SHALT WAGE WAR” goes the Mossad’s motto. This deceit is not only practiced on foreigners but also on the home front. Even the death of the three Israeli illegal settlers two weeks ago was kept from their families and the people of Israel so it could be used to justify the carnage that followed.
The teenagers had been reported as missing. They were not missing, they were dead. What were missing were the bodies of the three boys.
Knowing this from the beginning, the government of Israel put a media “gag order” on news of the search.
The government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu allowed a narrative of national outrage and grief to grow, providing a search cover for a military assault on Hamas.
The teenagers had been dead since June 12. The government knew this. And yet, it allowed the lie that they might be found alive to fill the hearts of three grieving families and the collective heart of the nation.

I recall a quote from American Jesuit Priest, Father John Sheehan. “Every time anyone says that Israel is our only friend in the Middle East, I can’t help but think that before Israel, we had no enemies in the Middle East.”
What hope do my people have when Israeli deceit has convinced the world community that Arabs and Moslems are terrorists and enemies of Western values and way of life? Even their own brethren have forsaken them.
What of those Arabs, I hear you ask?
Mr. George Galloway MP answered this thorny question decisively when he wrote on his Face book page:
“Will anyone, any Arab or Muslim leader stand up and lift even a finger to help the Palestinian people in this massacre? May God damn you. Where is Erdogan? The would be Ottoman Protector? Where? Where is Al-Waleed bin Talal bin Abdel Aziz Al Saud, co-owner of Fox and Sky “News”? Where are the Kings and Emirs of the Arab world? So ready to pay for the murder of Arabs. Where is King Abdullah, “Custodian of the two Mosques”? Where is General Sisi, “the new Nasser”?
I address the Arab and Muslim leaders sincerely with this question. Have you no sense of shame? Judge yourselves before you are judged…”
No Mr. Galloway sir, they have no since of shame. They are not true Arabs and their Islam is tainted.
What adds to my sense of despair is here we are, in the first week of the Holy Month of Ramadan and I see a plethora of messages of piety and worship and witness hoards of Moslems around the world flocking to their mosques. I cannot but wonder what is the meaning of this piety and worship? What does it mean to be a Muslim nowadays?
I am not, in any way, calling for a Jihad here, because the current crop of so-called Jihadists are made and manufactured in the corridors of power in the West. Once properly trained they are equipped and shipped to the Middle East to create mayhem and havoc in the name of Allah and Islam.
The United States of America and its allies created Al Qaeda. The United States and its allies created, armed, trained and financed Al-Nusra Front in Syria and now the ISIS in Syria and Iraq. This is not a figment of my imagination; some of their top politicians have actually admitted this.
US Republican Senator, Rand Paul speaking on NBC News’s Meet the Press programme, two weeks ago said the US government has been funding ISIS allies and supporting the terrorist group in Syria.
“They’re emboldened because we’ve been supporting them,” he said. “It could be that Assad [could have] wiped these people out months ago.
“I personally believe that this group would not be in Iraq and would not be as powerful had we not been supplying their allies in the war.”
Rand claimed ISIS has also received funding from Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
The most powerful woman in the world, Hillary Clinton, tipped to become the next US President was remarkably candid when she openly admitted that the Reagan administration created Al Qaeda to bring the Soviet Union to its knees. Listen to what she had to say:
Today is Friday. And here is a message to all the Moslem ‘hoards’ who will be heading to the mosques to do their prayers. Instead of facing Mecca why don’t you face Jerusalem? After all, isn’t Jerusalem the first ‘Qibla’?
Isn’t Al Aqsa Mosque the third most revered shrine in Islam?
Are you looking? Can you see the mob of Israeli illegal settlers invading the Al-Haram Al-Sharif and threatening the very foundations of your faith?
