RAMALLAH, (PIC)-- The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) mainly quelled Palestinian protests, organized in solidarity with Palestinian prisoners on hunger strike, over the past week, an international report said. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in the occupied Palestinian land (OCHA) said in a report on Friday that 28 children were among those wounded. It said that the IOF troops attacked the semi daily protest marches in various West Bank areas in solidarity with the hunger strikers, noting that most of the injuries were suffered in clashes near Ofer jail to the west of Ramallah. The report said that Jewish settlers attacked Palestinians and their property injuring one Palestinian and destroying dozens of trees and private cars in the provinces of Al-Khalil, Ramallah, Bethlehem, and Nablus. OCHA report, covering the period 2-8 May, said that IOF soldiers served demolition notices and destroyed around 500 olive and almond trees in Beit Ola village in Al-Khalil. |
