The Latest In Israel Boycott News

A local council in Australia that has a sister-city relationship with Bethlehem voted to join the international boycott of Israel. The Marrickville Council in inner Sydney voted 10-2 on Dec. 14 to support a ban on any government, academic, trade, sporting or cultural ties with Israel.

Store-owner Yves Archambault's arguments supporting his decision to sell Israeli-made shoes are weak. Just because something is legal doesn't mean it is right.
The unfortunate reality is that apartheid exists in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories. And the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement is a legitimate, non-violent way to pressure the Israeli government to end these abhorrent and morally repugnant crimes.
Whether Archambault likes it or not, all the decisions we make are political and make a statement about where we stand on world affairs. He should follow Khadir's footsteps and support the more than 170 Palestinian civil-society organizations that called on the international community to help them peacefully liberate their people from occupation.

The Palestinians have scored a series of diplomatic and public-relations successes against The Jewish state weakened by fraying relationships and a declining  reputation internationally because of their continued war crimes and we can do what ever we want attitude. On the diplomatic front, Palestinian leaders announced this week that 10 European Union countries were upgrading their ties with the PLO. Earlier this month, three Latin American countries -- Brazil, Argentina and Bolivia -- issued formal recognitions of the state of Palestine.
