Here's the latest update on an international flotilla relief effort to send ships to Gaza. As of Saturday, May 22, 2010, several ships in the harbor near Athens are preparing to leave for Gaza from Greece. These ships contain humanitarian supplies such as medical and construction supplies designed to help the people of Gaza get back on their feet again. If you would like to get an idea of what the ships' preparation process looks like, please jump to this live-feed link on the FPM website homepage: http://fpmdigitalship.blogspot.com/ What you will be seeing here now are the cargo-loading preparations aboard the cargo ship "Sophia". And later on, after the flotilla leaves Greece and heads out across the Mediterranean, this feed link will continue to broadcast actual live footage of this historic voyage. Currently, the internationally-sponsored flotilla's cargo ships plan to leave for Gaza on Sunday, May 23. However, the embarkation may have to be delayed until Tuesday, May 25, 2010, due to unforeseen circumstances. |
