1. SUGGESTIONS FOR MY BOOK'S SECOND EDITION:
Did you read my book, or at least breeze through looking at the
pictures? I'm finishing up the second edition of Witness in Palestine
this month--a combination of the old book with my new reports and some
new appendices. The new edition will also have clearer maps, bigger
photos, and more of each. I'm open to any ideas or suggestions that
could make this version as effective as it can be, so if you picked up
on stylistic features, structural features, or inaccuracies I should
change, please let me know, the sooner the better!
2. LARGEST ANTI-OCCUPATION MARCH IN U.S. HISTORY!:

3. WRITE MICHAEL MOORE TODAY! (From my colleague Hannah):
You may have heard recently that Elie Wiesel has invited Oprah to
Israel on a "solidarity" visit, and she has accepted. Wiesel is a
staunch supporter of Israel with an open policy of "never" criticizing
Israel in the U.S., no matter what. Oprah's visit is likely to be
about as "balanced" as my trip with Birthright Israel was, a trip best
described a pro-Israel indoctrination tour. Many people have been
writing to Oprah directly about this, encouraging her to visit
Palestinian communities in the West Bank while there. Birthright
Unplugged (www.birthrightunplugged.org), run by two of my Jewish
colleagues from IWPS, would be happy to facilitate this part of her
trip if Oprah were interested, but so far she doesn't seem to be.
I'm writing now is because I just learned that Michael Moore will be
on Oprah tomorrow with his new movie about health care. I just
e-mailed him at mike@michaelmoore.com. I'm not sure he'll get the
e-mail before tomorrow but I'm thinking if he gets several hundred
e-mails asking him to confront Oprah about her Israel visit and to
mention that he knows people who could help facilitate a West Bank
portion of her trip, maybe, just maybe, he'll say something to her
about it. So if you get this e-mail today (Monday) please take a
moment to e-mail Michael Moore. And if any of you have any more
direct link to him, now is the time to use it!
