Gaza - The political advisor of the PA premier, Ahmed Yousef, has affirmed that any attempt to dissolve the current Hamas-led PA elected government would lead to the collapse of the PA as a whole and the return to the square of occupation and armed resistance.
He also accused certain parties in the PA presidency institution of foiling all efforts to bridge the gap between Fatah and Hamas, adding that those parties do not welcome Hamas' presence in any future government, alleging "it is internationally-undesired".
But he noted that any delay in the formation of the PA unity government will be against the Palestinian people's interests as both the PA presidency institution and the PA government along with the entire Palestinian people are in the midst of a crisis that needs sincere local and Arab efforts to solve it.
"Abu Mazen (PA chief's nickname) is a partner that we respect and we [in the government] have a lot of agreements than differences with him. Therefore, the two political heads of the Palestinian people Abbas and Haneyya must sit together and move as one body to break the unjust siege", said Yousef.
He also solicited "sincere" Arab efforts that would help the Palestinians overcome the current political crisis without compromising their national constants and legal rights, explaining that the current Palestinian situation "needs new Arab and international initiatives that do not impose recognition of the Hebrew state as a pre-condition".
In a related matter, a poll conducted by the PIC website on the internet showed that majority of the respondents 72.7% believed that forming the national unity government is the best solution to get rid of the current crises engulfing the Palestinian people.
Around 24.2% of the respondents opined that going to early PA presidential and legislative elections was the solution. Only 3% of the respondents preferred an emergency government. Almost 5,800 respondents participated in the polls.
