PRCS: Israel Continues to Violate International Humanitarian Law

Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said that Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) has continued to violate International Humanitarian Law and Fundamental Human Rights.

In a press release issued Wednesday for the period 22-30 September 2006, PRCS revealed that Israeli soldiers restricted the freedom of movement to Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) ambulances and its medical teams, adding that delays, denial of access and arbitrary searches had a negative impact on wounded and sick in Al Beireh, Al Ezaryeh & Jericho cities.

PRCS added that during this reporting period, a total of 5 deaths & 8 injuries were reported in the West Bank and Gaza.

It concluded by saying that Israeli practices constitute a breach of the Fourth Geneva Convention and the First Additional Protocol of the Geneva Conventions, which are legally applied to the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT).
