Partcipants in a summer camp, demonstrated Sunday in the West Bank City of Qalqilya in protest against Israeli aggressions on the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.
The summer camp Children against the Wall of the Medical Relief Institution in the city raised graffiti and shouted slogans such a"Give us childhood and peace" and "We have the right to live in peace and security as the rest of children in the world".
They handed a letter to the International Committee of the Red Cross(ICRC) in the city, calling for intervention to halt the continued Israeli aggressions on the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples.
Humanitarian Situation in Gaza Remains Precarious
International Committee for the Red Cross (ICRC) said that the humanitarian situation in Gaza remains precarious as its 1.4 million inhabitants suffer the effects of the Israeli military operations.
ICRC revealed that the number of casualties is increasing daily, saying that at 10 July 55 Palestinian citizens had been killed and over 180 injured since the beginning of the Israeli military operations.
ICRC pointed out that the infrastructure was the main target during the first days of the Israeli military aggression.
"The destruction of the power plant in Nusseirat resulted in the loss of half the power supply in the Gaza Strip. Water pumps and hospitals are now relying on fuel-driven generators and electricity partly provided by Israel. Rotating outages are occurring in Gaza City, where power is supplied from 6 to 12 hours per day in each area," ICRC said.
The committee reminded that Gaza Strip has been sealed off to a large extent by the Israeli authorities since 25 June.
"Karni, the main crossing point into Gaza for imported goods and humanitarian aid, has remained closed most of the time. It was opened briefly on 2 July to allow UN convoys to bring humanitarian supplies into Gaza and on 4 and 6 July to allow ICRC-provided supplies to enter," ICRC added.
ICRC reminded all the parties concerned that international humanitarian law prohibits attacks against civilians not taking direct part in hostilities.
It also reiterated the obligation to take all necessary precautions to spare civilian life and property.
"All sides to the conflict must refrain from indiscriminate attacks and respect the principle according to which the impact of an attack on civilian lives and objects should not be excessive in relation to the concrete and direct military advantage anticipated," ICRC concluded.

Ministry of Information condemned the continued Israeli policy of assaults and threats against journalists and media either in the Palestinian territory or Lebanon.
In a press release issued Sunday, the Ministry said that such aggressions come in the context of the open war which is launched by Israeli occupation.

It called for unveiling the Israeli acts and the continued siege on the Palestinian people, calling at the same time on international and Arab journalists federations to condemn the Israeli assaults on journalists and media institutions in the Palestinian and Lebanese territories.
