The first article below reminded me of a report by a British journalist who during the first Intifada was puzzled by Israel's closure of Palestinian schools since he thought had they been kept open meant less children on the streets throwing stones. He investigation revealed a sinister motive. Apparently, the supremacist Zionists were dismayed to learn that despite all the restrictions and hardships imposed on the Palestinians, their children were, on average, better educated than their Israeli counterparts! So, in order to ensure that this will no longer remain the case, the Zionists decided to use any excuse to close Palestinian schools. I am afraid I do not remember the name of the reporter who wrote the article, but at the tine it was published by the Middle East Economic Digest.
