Following Ken Dryden's well-noted and now very public remark about cutting off all aid to the Palestinians of Gaza [“Stop all aid that flows into Gaza. While that may seem a harsh measure that will hurt Palestinian civilians… it is the right thing to do at this time.”], the informed and concerned public are now waiting to see what steps you will take in addressing this racist remark which amounts to endorsing genocide.
Having just returned from the border with Gaza myself, I met many of the "terrorists" Mr. Dryden is so quick to label and let die, many of whom who had been injured by Israel's illegal invasions into Gaza in March 2008, others of whom who were direly ill and unable to get the medical attention needed within Gaza due to the illegal siege of Gaza. Whether or not one agrees with the elected Hamas government, the people of Gaza are not pawns for the international community to starve and torture.
Despite Mr. Dryden's later attempts to nuance his statement, what is clear is that he fully endorses the policy of creating a humanitarian disaster in the Gaza Strip. Is this, then, the policy of the Liberal party?
Whereas Mr. Dion was quick to fire Lesley Hughes, one would expect --and we do --that Mr. Dryden will be promptly relieved of his position of power.

"The question whether Gaza remains an occupied territory is now of academic interest only. In the course of the cynically named "Operation Summer Rains" that commenced on 25 June, the IDF has not only asserted its control in Gaza by means of heavy shelling, but has also done so by means of a military presence."
--UN special rapporteur on the human rights situation in the Palestinian territories, John Dugard.
