MKs to initiate bill to evacuate area near Negev industrial zone
The Knesset Interior and Environment Committee intends to initiate a bill that, if passed, would bring about the evacuation of territory within a five-kilometer radius of the Ramat Hovav industrial zone in the Negev. Committee Chairman MK Ophir Pines-Paz announced during a tour of the zone for committee members on Wednesday that hazardous materials render the area unsafe. Should the initiative become law, it would mean that seven unrecognized Bedouin villages would need to be demolished. According to Pines-Paz, such an evacuation could only take place with the consent of the Bedouin residents.

 
Pulling Up Illegal Settlement From the Root
Approximately 60 Palestinian, Israeli and international activists joined together to protest and take non-violent direct action against the illegal confiscation of Palestinian land from the village of Al Mazra al Qiblya. Israel has declared the land state land, despite villagers' claims to the contrary.

 
Israeli army starts demolishing Palestinian homes in Tubas

sraeli military bulldozers started to demolish homes and residencies in Krebet Homsa in the Jordan valley to the east of Tubas in the West Bank on Thursday morning.


Army Invades Jenin and Surrounding Villages
At approximately 1 am, the IOF, entered the city of Jenin from Haifa Street. About ten military jeeps and at least one Caterpillar bulldozer entered the market area of Jenin city, as well as the center of Jenin Refugee Camp. They stayed for about three and a half hours, shooting at several houses inside the camp as well as throwing numerous sound bombs. Some Palestinian fighters from Islamic Jihad responded to the attack by shooting in the direction of the Israeli army. Fortunately none of the people living inside Jenin city and camp were killed, arrested or injured.


Israeli army opens fire on farmers in Beit Hanoun
Israeli troops, positioned on the borders of Beit Hanoun, northern Gaza Strip, have opened heavy gunfire on Palestinian farmers while they were toiling on the ground on Thursday at midday.


Palestinian mother and her two daughters kidnapped from Al Khadir village
An Israeli army force invaded the village of Al Khadir located to the west of Bethlehem city in the southern part of the West Bank on Wednesday at dawn and kidnapped three women there.

Israeli occupation forces "disperse" Jerusalem Mufti's dinner party
Occupied Jerusalem, 23 August - In the early morning hours Israeli occupation forces invaded Ramallah and Hebron and abducted seven Palestinians. Israeli sources say, the seven were on it's "wanted list", casting doubts about the law enforcing competence of the Palestinian caretaker government. Shortly before, yesterday evening in East Jerusalem, Israeli soldiers broke into the home of the Jersulem Mufti, Sheikh Mohammed Hussein and attacked a group of people having dinner on the roof terrace of Sheikh Hussein's house. One of the guests, Sheikh Raed Salah, the head of the Islamic movement in Israel, was injured and had to be treated at al-Maqasid hospital. The Israeli police declared it had not considered the dinner at the home of Sheikh Hussein of Jerusalem as a private affair, but as a political gathering of Hamas and Israeli Islamic groups which it had tried to disperse. After the some 30 guests did not obey the police's orders to disperse, a stun grenade had been thrown at them.
