to Israel's undeniable war crimes. It is incomprehensible that a people for whom oppression
has been historical would try to claim itself once again to be the victim of anti-Semitism
in an effort to justify its oppressive and despicable actions against millions
of people whose every move is controlled, making Occupied Palestine one giant prison.
The hypocrisy of their actions is beyond the pale. Change the terms of who is oppressed and who is the oppressor and no rational person could stand idly by and let this occupation go on, yet here we are, some eighty years since the Balfour Declaration, and those who have been given the land of others still claim to be the victim.
The question is simple: How would we react if a decree by an occupier or third party (and ratified by those outside of the arena, namely the United Nations) were, with the swipe of a pen, to take all that we own and give it to someone else? Would we fight to get it back? How hard and for how long?
The irony is not lost on the fact that we now see first-hand the exact same thing happening on a financial and natural resources front in a fractured Iraq. Where are the anti-occupation, anti-war forces on Israel's actions? It is time that we all woke up and put an end, once and for all, to the Palestinians' ongoing, generations-long nightmare.
I, for one, will stand for the Palestinians. That does not make me a terrorist, a terrorist sympathizer or an anti-Semite. It makes me a compassionate, open-minded and fair human being.
