Northwestern West Bank prison news



Israeli forces arrested a new Palestinian doctor returning to the West Bank via the King Hussein, or Allenby Bridge, Crossing from Jordan.

The family of 23 year old Issam Yousef Shanti told PNN Monday, “We were shocked to learn that the occupation authorities held our son for three hours in a private room and then handcuffed him and took him to an unknown location. We do not know the reason for his arrest or where he is now.”

The Qalqilia family said that their son traveled to Jordan two months ago to complete his medical training.

In related northwestern West Bank prison news, Israeli authorities are holding political prisoner and Qalqilia resident, Mohammad Farah Samhan, under Administrative Detention. His six-month sentence was imposed without charge or trial on Monday.

Another political prisoner from Qalqilia, Aref Nofal, was released today after a 40-day investigation in an Israeli prison facility near Tel Aviv.
