Israeli Soldiers Carry Out Mass Executions In Khuza'aTown

On Saturday, Palestinian and international news agencies managed to accompany residents and aid workers into the town of Khuza'a, in the southern Gaza Strip.

 Among those people were Tamer al-Mis-hal, a Palestinian journalist working for AL Jazeera news. In his report he showed how people are trying to find their relative under the destroyed homes. 

Khuza'a was occupied by the Israeli military tanks and troops from ten days. 

Towards the end of the report Tamer is called by residents into one of the homes were they found around 10 bodies of Palestinian youth.

Apparently, the youth were gathered in a small room of the house and were shot dead, firing squad style, by Israeli troops.

Israeli forces kill man execution style amid their ceasefire being extended

Israeli forces kill man in Deir al-Balah, shell eastern Rafah

Israeli forces shot a man dead and shelled the southern Gaza Strip late Saturday, amid reports that a humanitarian ceasefire had been extended for four hours until midnight.

Ashraf al-Qidra, spokesman for the Palestinian Ministry of Health, said in a statement that Naem Abd al-Aziz Abu Thaher, 36, was shot dead by Israeli forces in eastern Deir al-Balah.

A Ma'an reporter in Gaza said that Israeli forces had also shelled an area east of Rafah.

An Israeli army spokeswoman said she was unaware of any new strikes on Gaza.

The attacks came after Israeli media reported that officials had agreed to extend a humanitarian truce for four hours. The truce was initially scheduled to end at 8:00 p.m., but was to be extended until midnight.

There was no formal announcement for the extension of the ceasefire, and Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri said the Islamist movement had not been consulted about the extension.

Meanwhile, al-Qassam Brigades said in a statement that it targeted Tel Aviv with two M75 rockets at 8:40 p.m, 40 minutes after the end of the official ceasefire period.

Militants also fired rockets at Nahal Oz, the statement said.

Minutes after the official ceasefire expired, Israeli media reported that mortar shells hit open areas in Eshkol Regional Council.

Additionally, rocket sirens were heard in various towns in southern Israel.

Another rocket was intercepted by the Iron Dome over Kiryat Ekron in central Israel.

The Palestinian death toll in Gaza rose to well over 1,000 on Saturday, as search teams recovered bodies from destroyed buildings during the brief ceasefire.

Some 151 bodies were recovered during the 12-hour window, according to the Ministry of Health.

Nearly 6,000 Palestinians have been injured in the offensive.

Forty Israeli soldiers have been killed in Gaza, and three civilians have been killed by militant groups' attacks on Israel.

19 Palestinians mostly children, killed prior to ceasefire

GAZA, (PIC)-- Nineteen Palestinians were killed at dawn Saturday when Israeli warplanes bombed al-Najar family’s home in Khan Younis southern Gaza Strip.
Israeli artillery intensively fired shells at a residential building, belonging to al-Najar family, in Khan Younis. Nineteen family members, mostly children, were killed during the attack, medical sources confirmed.
Meanwhile, Israeli warplanes targeted a home in Gaza City belonging to Sheikh Abdul Aziz Alkajak, a leader in Hamas movement. Two citizens were killed during the airstrike while 15 others were injured.
On the other hand, Israeli airstrikes continued to target Palestinian health institutions most recently was Beit Hanun hospital for the second time within a week.
Local sources said that significant damage was caused, while dozens of injuries were reported among the patients. More than 60 patients and doctors are still trapped in the hospital, the sources added.
A foreign journalist was seriously injured during the attack on Beit Hanun hospital.
Palestinian health ministry earlier revealed that 25 health institutions were totally or partially destroyed during Israeli airstrikes.
Along the same line, the Palestinian medic Mohamed al-Abadleh, 32, was killed by Israeli gunfire in Qarara town east of Khan Younis, raising the number of medics killed since Israeli aggression on Gaza to seven.
Mohamed was shot dead by Israeli gunfire while trying to save an injured person. He bled to death as ambulance crews were blocked from reaching him.
A spokesman for Health Ministry said that seven medics were killed while 16 others were injured by Israeli gunfire since the Israeli aggression on Gaza started almost three weeks ago.
More than twenty Palestinians were killed in Gaza few hours before the 12-hour humanitarian ceasefire went into effect, bringing Gaza death toll to 900 martyrs since the start of the Israeli aggression 20 days ago.

Israeli War Crime: Video Shows Sniper Killing of Wounded Gaza Civilian

A video has emerged of the targeting and killing by a sniper of a Palestinian civilian in Gaza City’s Shujaiya neighborhood where Israeli shelling killed dozens of civilians and caused massive destruction early on Sunday morning.
The video, documenting a war crime, was uploaded to YouTube by the International Solidarity Movement, which described the incident in a 20 July press release:
The Israeli military just shot a Gazan man trying to reach his family, during an announced ceasefire. He was with a group of municipality workers and international human rights defenders who were attempting to retrieve injured people in the Shujaiya neighborhood.
“We all just watched a man murdered in front of us. He was trying to reach his family in Shujaiya, he had not heard from them and was worried about them. They shot him, and then continued to fire as he was on the ground. We had no choice but to retreat. We couldn’t reach him due to the artillery fire and then he stopped moving.” Stated Joe Catron, US International Solidarity Movement (ISM) activist in Gaza. “Shajiya is a smoking wasteland. We just passed two bombed out ambulances.”
The Israel military has also shelled Red Crescent ambulances as they attempted to retrieve injured people in the Shujaiya neighbourhood, east of Gaza City. A ceasefire was announced, during which injured and dead people, could be evacuated from the area, in which at least 60 people have been killed today.
“They said we would be able to evacuate the injured from the disaster zone, but they have been shelling ambulances,” stated Dr Khalil Abu Foul of the Palestinian Red Crescent, speaking from Shujaiya.
Now, the international volunteers, including some from the US, the UK, and Sweden, are in a rescue centre on the outskirts of Shujaiya.

Israeli war crimes have been documented on video with depressing frequency, including the 15 May sniper killings of two Palestinian teens in the occupied West Bank town of Beitunia.
However even such evidence rarely results in justice or accountability, due to the systematic impunity Israel affords perpetrators of crimes against Palestinians.
Relentless slaughter continues
Israel’s relentless slaughter continued on Monday for the fourteenth consecutive day, killing multiple members of three extended families as the death toll rose to over 500, Ma’an News Agency reported.
In Khan Younis, at least 26 members of the Abu Jami family were killed by Israeli shelling in the largest single atrocity so far. Democracy Now reporter Sharif Kouddous in Gaza captured these photos of the massacre’s aftermath.

These are the names that have been confirmed by medical sources in Gaza. Approximately 1260 have been injured, with some losing limbs and others disabled for life. The majority of the wounded are children, according to the Ministry of Health. All of the casualties listed below are victims of Israeli bombs dropped on Gaza since Tuesday July 8th.

These Two Palestinians We're Assassinated By Israeli Missiles In Central Gaza

Palestinian medical sources have reported that two residents have been killed, on Sunday evening, in an Israeli air strike on the al-Boreij refugee camp, in central Gaza.

 The sources said that missiles were fired targeting a group of resistance fighters east of the refugee camp, killing two and wounding several Palestinians. 

Israeli drones can still be heard flying over the area, and over different parts of the besieged coastal region. 

Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, Dr. Ashraf al-Qodra, stated that the slain Palestinians have been identified as Mazin Faraj al-Jarba, 30, and Marwan Hasan Salim, 23. At least one Palestinian suffered a moderate injury. 

Also on Sunday evening, the Salah Ed-Deen Brigades, the armed wing of the Popular Resistance Committees, stated that a group of its fighters survived an assassination attempt in Beit Hanoun, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.

The Brigades added that the fighters managed to fire two missiles into an adjacent Israeli area. 

Israeli drones also fired missiles into a Palestinian land in Beit Lahia, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip. 

The army also fired artillery shells into southern Gaza, including three shells fired into the eastern boundaries of Rafah city.

Palestinian teenager shot dead by IDF in West Bank

An 18-year-old Palestinian was shot dead by Israeli troops during a raid of Jenin refugee camp in the northern West Bank early on Tuesday, Palestinian security and medical officials told AFP. The victim has been identified as Yusuf Abu Zagher, the sources said, clarifying that his death is unrelated to Israeli operations following the discovery of the bodies of three kidnapped Israeli teenagers. Israeli reports indicate that the teenager threw an explosive device at the troops, who responded with live fire. The Israeli military had no immediate comment.

The unprovoked, cold-blooded killing of Palestinian boys by Israeli forces

This shocking video shows the unprovoked, cold-blooded killings of two Palestinian teenagers, 17-year-old Nadim Siam Nuwara, and 16-year-old Muhammad Mahmoud Odeh Abu al-Thahir on 15 May near Ofer military prison in the occupied West Bank city of Beitunia.
Both boys were fatally shot with live ammunition. The video was obtained by Defence for Children International - Palestine Section (DCI-Palestine) which sent the following description to The Electronic Intifada:
The CCTV footage was captured by cameras mounted on the building where the incident took place, which is owned by Fakher Zayed.
“The images captured on video show unlawful killings where neither child presented a direct and immediate threat to life at the time of their shooting,” said Rifat Kassis, executive director of DCI-Palestine. “These acts by Israeli soldiers may amount to war crimes, and the Israeli authorities must conduct serious, impartial, and thorough investigations to hold the perpetrators accountable for their crimes.”
Nadim Siam Nuwara, 17, sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the chest. Muhammad Mahmoud Odeh Abu al-Thahir, 16, sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the back.
The boys were participating in a demonstration near Ofer military prison to mark Nakba Day and express solidarity with hunger striking prisoners currently held in administrative detention by Israel. The demonstration reportedly began peacefully and then turned violent when Israeli forces clashed with Palestinian youth.
The deaths on Thursday raise the number of Palestinian children killed by Israeli forces in 2014 to four, according to data collected by DCI-Palestine. Over 1,400 Palestinian children have been killed as a result of Israeli military and settler presence in the Occupied Palestinian Territory since 2000.
The Israeli military’s own regulations dictate that live ammunition must be used “only under circumstances of real mortal danger,” but the regulations are not enforced and frequently ignored by Israeli soldiers, according to research by DCI-Palestine.

Israel sniper to get 45 days over Gaza war shooting

An Israeli soldier implicated in the killing of two Gaza women carrying a white flag faces a 45-day jail term under a plea bargain approved by a military court on Sunday, local media said.
The sniper, identified by Israeli media as "staff sergeant S," was charged with manslaughter in 2010 over the fatal shooting of an unnamed individual, which Palestinian witnesses linked to the killing of 64-year-old Riyeh Abu Hajaj and her daughter Majda Abu Hajaj, 37, during Israel's "Cast Lead" Gaza offensive.
But the Israeli military said the charge had on Sunday been reduced from manslaughter to using a weapon illegally.
"Following a mediation process and upon examination of the evidence with the recommendation of the military court, both sides have reached a plea bargain in which the indictment will be adjusted, and he will be convicted of using a weapon illegally," a military statement said.
Under the deal, "S" would be jailed for 45 days, media reports said.
Israeli rights group B'Tselem, said that if the military had been unable to prove that "S" fired the fatal shots at the women, who were carrying a white flag when they were killed, it must reopen its investigation and find the guilty party.
"If the military prosecution accepted the claim brought by the soldier's lawyers, that there is no connection between the shooting he admitted to, and the killing of the Palestinian mother and daughter, this means that the investigation into this incident was never completed," the group said in a statement.
"B'Tselem demands that the Military Police investigation unit reopen the file."
According to B'Tselem, on January 4, 2009, the Abu Hajaj family evacuated their home after it was hit by an Israeli tank shell.
"When they saw tanks about 150 metres (yards) from them, two of them waved the (white) flags, and the children in the group sat on the ground," B'Tselem said.
"Suddenly, and without warning, shots were fired at the residents, killing Majda Abu Hajaj on the spot. Her mother, Riyeh Abu Hajaj, was severely wounded by the gunfire," it said. She later died of her wounds.
The incident was one of those raised in the UN Goldstone report on alleged war crimes by both Israel and Gaza's rulers, the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas, during the offensive aimed at halting rocket fire from Gaza.
More 1,400 Palestinians and 13 Israelis were killed in the conflict.
The army dismissed dozens of other alleged incidents because "according to the rules of warfare, no faults were found in the forces' actions."
In other cases, the army said there was "not enough evidence proving that legal measures needed to be taken," in a statement issued when the sniper was charged in 2010.

Izz al-Din al-QawezbaIn the dawn of last Sunday, Izz al-Din al-Qawezba, 38 years old, a married father of six children from the village of Saeer in the district of Hebron left his children sleeping and went to his work in Israel. Al-Qawezba and his friends were chased by the Israeli death squads, the so-called border police, who are a unit of the IDF. According to a statement of his uncle, Al-Qawezba was not able to run away because he was overweight. The death squad grabbed him, executed him in cold blood and then placed his body in a plastic bag and dragged him away. According to other laborers also on their way to work and who witnessed the execution, they were detained and beaten seriously. Crows flew over the blood trail of the victim, fighting to get some of it.

He added: "My cousin was 20 meters from me; I asked him to hurry up but he was slow because of his weight. His brother Hassan was walking close to him and I asked them again to hurry up because the soldiers were still behind us. Suddenly I saw a soldier approaching Izz al-Din, he put his rifle on the his body and then shoot him. I went back to find out his situation after being shot, dozens of workers followed me. When we approached the scene, the IDF death squads surrounded us and started beating us with cruelty and violence. At this time we saw them putting the body in a black bag and dragging him for a distance of more than fifty meters. The body and the about 100 workers present were transported to and released in Al-Issawiya village. Hassan al-Qawesba, the brother of the murder victim, was arrested by the IDF death squads.
Dr. Hanna Issa, an international law expert, commented on the crime. He said: “the execution of the 38 years old Palestinian in cold blood by the Israeli troops from point-blank range is a grave breach of law punishable under international law. The crime is considered a crime against humanity”. He added: “that the Israeli occupation troops continue to violate the rights of Palestinian citizens to be secure in the life and in their persons and continue to use excessive force in dealing with the Palestinian civilians in the occupied Palestinian territories. In the recent years the IDF soldiers have exceeded the forms of murdering Palestinians. Many were sniped, others were shot in the head during peaceful demos, and several Palestinians were assassinated in cold blood.”
The Israeli executions are a grave breach of the basic rules of international humanitarian law, which forbids the use of weapons or the means to fight that would cause unnecessary losses or excessive suffering for the human beings, and which expressly protect civilians.

Anguished Suicide Note Cites ‘Deluge of Doublethink’ In Driving Kind-Hearted Shrink to Despair

Moshe Yatom, a prominent Israeli psychiatrist who successfully cured the most extreme forms of mental illness throughout a distinguished career, was found dead at his home in Tel Aviv yesterday from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

A suicide note at his side explained that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has been his patient for the last nine years, had “sucked the life right out of me.”

“I can’t take it anymore,” wrote Yatom. “Robbery is redemption, apartheid is freedom, peace activists are terrorists, murder is self-defense, piracy is legality, Palestinians are Jordanians, annexation is liberation, there’s no end to his contradictions. Freud promised rationality would reign in the instinctual passions, but he never met Bibi Netanyahu. This guy would say Gandhi invented brass knuckes.”

Psychiatrists are familiar with the human tendency to massage the truth to avoid confronting emotionally troubling material, but Yatom was apparently stunned at what he called the “waterfall of lies” gushing from his most illustrious patient. His personal diary details the steady disintegration of his once invincible personality under the barrage of self-serving rationalizations put forth by Netanyahu.

“I’m completely shocked,” said neighbor Yossi Bechor, whose family regularly vacationed with Yatom’s family. “Moshe was the epitome of the fully-integrated personality and had cured dozens of schizophrenics before beginning work on Bibi. There was no outward indication that his case was any different from the others.”
But it was. Yatom grew increasingly depressed at his complete lack of progress in getting the Prime Minister to acknowledge reality, and he eventually suffered a series of strokes when attempting to grasp Netanyahu’s thinking, which he characterized in one diary entry as “a black hole of self-contradiction.”

The first of Yatom’s strokes occurred when Netanyahu offered his opinion that the 911 attacks on Washington and New York “were good.” The second followed a session in which Netanyahu insisted that Iran and Nazi Germany were identical. And the third occurred after the Prime Minister declared Iran’s nuclear energy program was a “flying gas chamber,” and that all Jews everywhere “lived permanently in Auschwitz.” Yatom’s efforts to calm Netanyahu’s hysteria were extremely taxing emotionally and routinely ended in failure. “The alibi is always the same with him,” complained another diary entry. “The Jews are on the verge of annihilation at the hands of the racist goyim and the only way to save the day is to carry out one final massacre.”

Yatom was apparently working on converting his diary into a book about the Netanyahu case. Several chapters of an unfinished manuscript, entitled “Psychotic On Steroids,” were found in his study. The excerpt below offers a rare glimpse at the inner workings of a Prime Minister’s mind, at the same time as it reveals the daunting challenge Yatom faced in seeking to guide it to rationality:

“Bibi came by at three for his afternoon session. At four he refused to leave and claimed my house was actually his. Then he locked me in the basement overnight while he lavishly entertained his friends upstairs. When I tried to escape, he called me a terrorist and put me in shackles. I begged for mercy, but he said he could hardly grant it to someone who didn’t even exist.”
