Gaza loses 80% of its power due to the Israeli offensive

Gaza's Electricity Distribution Company announced on Saturday evening that its current capacity is less than 20 percent of the power needed in the Gaza Strip, as a result of the ongoing Israeli onslaught.
"We cannot talk about a power program in light of the unstable conditions in the Strip," public relations director in the company, Gamal Al-Deresdawy, said in press statements.
Al-Deresdawy pointed out that the available electric power is less than 20 percent, since eight out of ten Israeli wires have been hit by airstrikes and their operation requires coordination with Israelis who do not allow the company's staffers to enter Israel.
