Resistance Leads to Shots fired inside U.S embassy in Tel Aviv

Shots have been fired inside the US embassy in Tel Aviv, and one security guard has been injured in the incident.

Israeli police spokesman Luba Samri said that an Israeli man from Bat Yam attacked “the US embassy at 11:00 am (0900 GMT) with a knife and an axe and attacked a security guard," AFP reported.

The guard’s colleagues fired shots at the assailant and later arrested him, Samri added.

"The attacker was not hurt," the police spokeswoman said, adding that the guard who was attacked had been injured in the leg.

She also said that the attack took place at the entrance of the US embassy on Yarkon Street.
