AL-KHALIL, (PIC)-- The Israeli occupation forces had prevented the calling for prayer in the Ibrahimi Mosque fifty-two times during last month. Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs issued a report in which they confirmed that occupation has prevented calling for prayer in the holy Ibrahimi Mosque under the pretext of disturbing the settlers, who had seized a part of the mosque, in total violation to the international laws and norms that maintain freedom of access to and freedom of worship at the holy sites. The report stated that the Israeli authority is continuing its arrogant measures aiming to prevent them from performing their prayers in the mosque, in addition to the strict military measures on the entrances and the main roads leading to it. For his part, the director of endowments in Al-Khalil denounced the Israeli brutal practices against holy sites, considering it as trespass against the monotheistic religions and freedom of worship protected by international laws and norms, and confirming that these occupation's deliberate measures aim to take control over the whole mosque. He stressed that the Ibrahimi Mosque is an Islamic Palestinian affair, and Jews have no right to interfere with it. |
