Canadian Government Breaks Officially Breaks The Promise To Canadians That Soldiers would Leave Afghanistan

The federal government is confirming that it will keep up to 950 soldiers and support staff in Afghanistan on a training mission after Canada's combat role ends next July.
Foreign Affairs Minister Lawrence Cannon says the "non-combat" troops will be stationed in the Kabul area.
