Israeli military checkpoints "play a significant role in the process of targeting and detaining Palestinian citizens as they move around"
The report highlighted the fact that during the first half of this year, the Israeli forces launched a widespread campaign of arrests in various regions of Hebron. The campaign resulted in the detention of 468 individuals including 90 children, 110 students and 58 ill individuals. The Prisoner’s Forum confirmed that the Israeli authorities had transferred 33 prisoners to administrative detention and sent 70 others to Ashkelon Central Prison. Additionally, another 50 detainees were transferred to al-Maskubiyya, al-Jamlah and Petah Tikva prisons.
The report also drew attention to the fact that Israeli military checkpoints "play a significant role in the process of targeting and detaining Palestinian citizens as they move around" and highlighted the fact that a large number of prisoners and detainees were arrested near these barriers.
