[Anna in Palestine] Spring Presentations, Trainings, & Advocacy Conferences

Dear friends,

I don't usually send two updates in one month (let alone one week) when I'm not in Palestine, but wanted to make sure I sent out my tour schedule in case you know someone located where I'll be going who might want to come.

In particular, I wanted to invite everyone to the Grassroots Advocacy Training & Lobbying Conference March 7th & 8th at American University in Washington, DC. I'll be doing my Speaker Training Workshop (see description*) and others. Learn more at www.ifpb.org/education/grassroots and I've included details below my schedule…

Hope to see you somewhere along the tour! Please pass this along to anyone who might be interested.

Best,

Anna

* SPEAKER TRAINING WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION: Are you someone who has been to Palestine or knows a lot about the issue but hasn't quite figured out how to best convey your experience to others? Do you feel frustrated and ill-prepared when confronted with opposition and difficult questions? Or do you feel ready to speak but don't know who will listen? This interactive workshop offers techniques and talking points for dealing with hostility and effectively engaging your communities to take action. RSVP required.

WHY ACT NOW?

The United States has long been the most dominant international player in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. As a result, US citizens bear a deep responsibility to address our government's role and support Palestinian and Israeli peace efforts. This Grassroots Advocacy Training will provide both seasoned organizers and new activists with the skills and experience needed to make a real impact.

There has never been a better chance to make a change. Last year's election has provided a new opportunity. Participants will gain access to new resources on United States aid to Israel and attend workshops led by experts in the field. The lobby day corresponds with an important time in the congressional calendar when budget appropriations (including military aid to Israel) are being debated and decided.

Join Interfaith Peace-Builders and the U.S. Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation for a unique opportunity to make real change. Your participation will enrich your understanding of the conflict and help build a strong grassroots US movement for peace and justice in Palestine/Israel.
