In an appreciation of the solidarity work of international artists, Resistance Art is introducing a "World for Palestine ” calendar series for international artists who are committed to the Palestinian struggle and social justice in the world.
We begin our "World for Palestine ” series with a talented and gifted cartoonist from Brazil Carlos Latuff. Based in Rio de Janeiro , Brazil , Carlos has crafted a style that can be described as Political cartoonist with a unique courage that knows no compromise when it comes to supporting the struggle against oppression.
On behalf of all the people who are involved in this project and the people who benefit from it, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your support. As the world watches Israel is imprisoning 1.5 million Palestinian in Gaza and denying them the most basic needs.
Art has always been the voice of freedom under oppression, but art is forbidden in Gaza . Artist in Gaza lack the most basic art supplies, papers, canvases, paint….. We ask for your help to break the siege on Gaza and to support Gaza ’s young artists. All proceeds from the sales of “World for Palestine ” 2010 Calendar will be donated to "The Young Artists forum" in Gaza .
