After Israelis deny him entry to Gaza, French Foreign Minister invited to visit via Rafah

Gaza / PNN – French Foreign Minister co-founder of Médecins Sans Frontières, Bernard Kouchner cancelled his trip after the Israeli administration refused to allow him to enter the Gaza Strip after his planned visit to Tel Aviv. Chairman of the Popular Committee against the Siege on Gaza and Palestinian Legislative Council member, Jamal Al Khudari is calling on the good doctor to come to Gaza anyway. He suggests bypassing the Israelis altogether and entering the Strip through the Rafah Crossing with Egypt.

When the Israeli administration denied Kouchner’s request to enter Gaza through the Beit Hanoun / Erez Crossing, he said he would not visit Israeli territory without the approval of his visit to Gaza.

Al Khudari said today that it is crucial for Kouchner to come to Gaza anyway in order to witness the situation. Due to the blockade, the bad has been aggravated to worse with disastrous consequences, Al Khudari said from Gaza.

He pointed out that dozens of Arab and international officials have bypassed Israeli obstacles and visited the Gaza Strip through the Rafah Crossing. "They have been briefed on the suffering of a million and a half under siege, and briefed on their needs," Al Khudari told the press Thursday.

The PLC deputy added that the Israeli administration is fighting these types of visits fearing the international community will become informed of the tragedy of Gaza and the war crimes committed by the military.
