Please sign petition to end abuse of Palestinian women prisoners, it only takes seconds.

Today I created a petition calling upon the Israeli Attorney General, the Director of Israeli Prison Services and the Israeli Minister of Internal Security to immediately close the solitary confinement ward at the Neve Tirtza prison in Israel. The petition also demands that an independent investigation be launched to determine who is behind the alledged torture and other human rigtht violations listed in the Bar Association Report. This is in solidarity with the Israeli Bar Association, and ADALAH, The Legal Center for Arab Minority Rights in Israel.

According to a report issued by members of the Israeli Bar Association and independent journalists, " detention conditions of women prisoners in the solitary confinement ward of Neve Tirtza are cruel, inhuman, degrading and illegal" www.adalah.org/eng/pressreleases/pr.php?file=09_06_29.

Please join me in this attempt to protect the lives and human rights of Palestinian and Arab women in Israeli prisons, and to demand Israeli conformity with the Geneva Conventions and all human rights laws and treaties. This petition will be sent to the Israeli government departments and ministries listed in the petition. At best, they will realize that the international community is aware of what is taking place and demands that it ends immediately, and they will make efforts to address the issues raised. Worse case is that they will understand and simply ignore our demands, which is doubtful.
