Go To Israel:On The House(s),Of Others!

By Political Theatrics

Yesterday I asked all of you to sign away on an online petition:StandUpForJerusalem and I decided to go have a look at how many more signatories there were – Lo’ and behold there was a Google advert that happened to catch my eye whilst I was present on the petition’s page.
After clicking the link I was sent to the site Israel On The House wherein I took a screen-capture of the page whilst my mouth was still agape.

Yes you read that correctly,a FUN trip to Israel – on the house!
Apparently this free trip is only given out to Jews through kind, and kosher donations from contributors from the site
BirthRight Israel the name is a bit blunt, don’t you think?

birthrightIsrael

I honestly think that the tagline is nothing but a petty xenophobic subterfuge – but maybe I’m wrong in my inference that the implication of birthright is dire and blunt.

Now,I had a look at the site IsraelOnTheHouse in order to get a bit more acquainted with what exactly one gets to do once they are in Israel.
The site reads as follows:

What You Get, On The House:
Although this trip is totally “on the house” we spare no expense to make sure that it will be on of the most amazing experiences of your life. We show you the country in a way that no one else can, offering:
*A Jerusalem weekend and even visiting the Kotel (Western Wall) on Friday evening — a quintessential experience that should not be missed!
*A night out in Eilat, Israel’s sizzlin’ hot resort town on the shores of the Red Sea.
*Kayaking in the cool and refreshing Jordan River.
*Spa, jacuzzi, swimming, mud treatment and floating in the Dead Sea.
*Spend a night under the stars it a Bedouin tent. Ride a camel and experience Bedouin culture
*Barbecue at the the house! Hang with Sachlav’s charismatic CEO Divon Yron as he welcomes you to his house and into his family.
*
Travel with and get to know Israeli soldiers from elite combat units.
*Experience vibrant Israeli nightlife at parties and nights out on the town!
* Top notch Israeli tour guides supported by an enthusiastic Israeli staff that will give you a warm welcome and unforgettable experience.
*Flexibility and openness to religious, non-affiliated, every age group, etc

Now that we know all the exciting things one gets to do in Israel while people are dying of malnutrition, starvation, lack of proper medical attention, water etc in Gaza let’s look at why Taglit-Birthright Israel wants Jews to take advantage of this marvelous trip!

For the Jews,by the Jews and with the Jews.

Still,in all seriousness,do they not see the irony in saying that this trip is “on the house”?

I wonder how many houses it happens to be on,and how many more it will cost.
