Help Send Five Trucks of Medical Aid to Gaza in July !

I'm writing today to ask for your help for a very important aid and solidarity project that you may have heard about called Viva Palestina-US.

After the brutal 22-day assault on Gaza in last winter, activist and member of the British Parliament George Galloway launched Viva Palestina and organized the first convoy from Britain to Gaza. They left London on February 14, 2009 with 107 vehicles, 255 people and $2 million of aid.

Now, Galloway, and anti-war Vietnam vet Ron Kovic (featured in "Born on the 4th of July"), along with hundreds of US activists will take a convoy from the US into Gaza on July 4th, 2009.

We need to raise $75,000 to purchase five trucks packed with medical aid to be delivered by San Francisco Bay Area activists. As you know, MECA delivered more than seven tons of food, medicine and medical supplies to Gaza during and right after the attacks

Last month, after meeting with George Galloway, we decided to join Viva Palestina to get more aid to Gaza now, and to focus world-wide attenttion to the desperation of people in Gaza--from the aftermath of the massacres and the ongoing inhuman blockade.

Please make a contribution now to help bring much-needed medical supplies, wheelchairs, and other aid through Egypt into the besieged Gaza Strip.

Many, many thanks,
Barbara Lubin, MECA Director
For Viva Palestina-US, Bay Area
