Over 600 Gaza Patients need Help Now!

Dr. Muawiya Hassanen, head of the Emergency Unit at the Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip, warned of the deteriorating health conditions faced a large number of patients due of the continuing Israeli siege

Dr. Hassanen pointed out that there are 600 patients waiting for the opening of the crossings to enable them to travel outside Gaza for treatment not available in Gaza's hospitals, a situation made worse by the lack of basic medicines in Gaza.

There are many instances where medical equipments cannot be used because of the lack of spare parts brought about by the Israeli siege.

He called on Egypt, the International Community and the Quartet to act by pressurising Israel to open crossings so that patients can be treated in Egypt and elsewhere.
