Looking back its clear to see how Israel set up Syria to get their troops removed from Lebanon so that Israel could invade. This is another reason to stand against globalization. Now Syria complies with its 1 UN resolution. But Israel ignores nearly 100 of them.
United Nations Security Council Resolution 1559 was created because of an Israeli false flag. It called on Syrian troops to be removed from Lebanon after a vicious car bombing which killed the former prime minister of Lebanon Rafik al-Hariri. This was blamed on Syria, later because of a lack of evidence the blame was shifted to a Palestinian however UN investigations cleared the suspect of being capable of the attack and later it was discovered that Israeli agents were responsible for the attacks. The result was a call by the UN to remove Syria's troops from Lebanon something Israel desperately wanted. Bush even goofed up admitting this accidentally while having lunch with Tony Blair and speaking into a mic he didn't know was still on. As soon As Syria was removed from Lebanon Israel attacks Lebanon (and even I predicted on KUCI radio the month before) that Summer thinking that they could win and control and occupy all the land south of the Latani river. The problem was that even without Syrian troops or the Lebanese military, Hezbollah alone was enough to repel the Israeli military which suffered an embarrassing defeat and damaged their PR by killing thousands of civilians and bombing Christian areas of Beirut. All of that story in detail is in the movie Iraq 911 PNAC All Roads lead to Israel.
It's been a common method really. An Israeli spy ring was arrested in Lebanon. Mahmoud al-Majdoub and his brother Nidal were killed by bombings as well which were at the time blamed on Palestine. Israel likes to use terrorist tactics to kill its enemies and yet they blame it on others. In 2002 Israel was even caught with a fake Al Qaeda ring! This never made it on US news of course.
One only needs to look at this from ex-Mossad agent Victor Ostrovsky's book "The Other Side of Deception": Who is also famous for the Mossad motto "By way of Deception thou shall do war" YOu can see clearly the plans Israel has for the Middle East.
The Mossad realized that it had to come up with a new threat to the region, a threat of such magnitude that it would justify whatever action the Mossad might see fit to take.
The right-wing elements in the Mossad (and in the whole country, for that matter) had what they regarded as a sound philosophy: They believed (correctly, as it happened) that Israel was the strongest military presence in the Middle East. In fact, they believed that the military might of what had become known as "fortress Israel" was greater than that of all of the Arab armies combined, and was responsible for whatever security Israel possessed. The right wing believed then - and they still believe - that this strength arises from the need to answer the constant threat of war.
The corollary belief was that peace overtures would inevitably start a process of corrosion that would weaken the military and eventually bring about the demise of the state of Israel, since, the philosophy goes, its Arab neighbors are untrustworthy, and no treaty signed by them is worth the paper it's written on.
Supporting the radical elements of Muslim fundamentalism sat well with the Mossad's general plan for the region. An Arab world run by fundamentalists would not be a party to any negotiations with the West, thus leaving Israel again as the only democratic, rational country in the region. And if the Mossad could arrange for the Hamas (Palestinian fundamentalists) to take over the Palestinian streets from the PLO, then the picture would be complete.
Israel does not want peace. The US does not want peace. War means profits for the MIC. And they want war for as long as possible.
But if you are in favor of the UN then take alook at all the UN resolutions that Israel ignores. The UN is meaningless when the US can use it's veto to knock down whatever it wants and even when it doesn't the resloutions are never enforced anyway. Thus the only things enforced are whatever the US agrees with making the international body just a whippy-boy and a face to try and legitimize US imperialism.
That was just from 1955 to 1998
This one is important and President Obama said Jerusalem will be the undivided holy capital of Israel for the Jews.
United Nations Security Council Resolution 1322
United Nations Security Council Resolution 1322 was adopted by a vote of 14-0 (US abstaining) on 7 October 2000
The resolution was sponsored by Malaya and supported by several European countries[
It recalls UN Security Council resolutions 476 and 478 of 1980, 672 of 1990, and 1073 of 1996 and reaffirms the importance of respect for all the Holy Places in Jerusalem,
The resolution refers to Arial Sharon's visit to the Temple Mount on the 28th Sept 2000 as the "provocation carried out at Al-Haram Al-Sharif" and to the subsequent violence "resulting in over 80 Palestinian deaths and many other casualties". It condemned acts of violence "especially the excessive use of force against Palestinians", called on the occupying Power Israel, to abide by its legal obligations and stressed the importance of "establishing a mechanism for a speedy and objective inquiry".
The original version of the resolution sought a strong condemnation of Israel. The US threatened to veto this version, and the language was modified to remove mention of Israel by name.
