There are many issues this story raises, not the least involving the fallacy of aerial precision. What troubles me most, however, is how the IDF, in the name of transparency and smart public relations, has not only posted quite a few videos of bombing runs, but continues to show the one in question (at least, as of Thursday night), as if this apparent evisceration of civilians doesn't merit correction.

So the NYT's token Arab correspondent from Gaza, Taghreed El-Khodary, was today permitted to write an article on her own, without the (visible) collaboration of the White Man. It is never enough. There are no limits to how far New York Times correspondents (with one exception or two) would go to justify Israeli killings of Palestinian and Lebanese civilians. Huge jump in hacker attacks on Israeli sites
Quantity, not quality, is the guideline of hackers trying to shut down Israeli websites in response to Operation Cast Lead. Information security solutions developer Applicure Technologies Ltd. (TASE:APCR) reports a multifold increase in hacking at Israeli websites, as well as a large increase in attempts to hack protected websites. Applicure founder and CTO David Allouch told "Globes", "We're talking about Iranian organizations, some of which call themselves communist, and organizations affiliated with Syria and Hizbullah. In contrast, during the Second Lebanon War in 2006, hackers were mostly kids from Morocco."

The Gaza Crisis
The death toll in Gaza continues to rise. The carnage is everywhere – city streets, a mosque, hospitals, police stations, a jail, a university bus stop, a plastics factory, a television station. It seems impossible, unacceptable, to step back to analyze the situation while bodies remain buried under the rubble, while parents continue to search for their missing children, while doctors continue to labor to stitch burned and broken bodies back together without sufficient medicine or equipment. The hospitals are running short even of electricity—the Israeli blockade has denied them fuel to run the generators. It is an ironic twist on the legacy of Israel's involvement in an earlier massacre – in the Sabra and Shatila camps, in Lebanon back in 1982, it was the Israeli soldiers who lit the flairs, lighting the night sky so their Lebanese allies could continue to kill.
