Tens of thousands of people across the world, including many Canadians, took to the streets on Saturday on Jan 03, 2009 in protest as Israel ratcheted up its military offensive into Gaza. In Canada also, thousands of Palestinian supporters took to the streets in Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa and other cities to protest Israel's week-long attack on Gaza and to urge the Canadian government to speak up against the increasing violence in the region.
Thousands of protesters including men, women and kids of all ages and different schools of thought gathered at Dundas Square, Downtown Toronto from where they marched towards the Israeli Consulate and ended at the US consulate, chanting anti-Zionist slogans and slandering the pro-Zionist policies of Stephen Harper's minority government.
