Israeli industrial zones using West Bank as chemical dump

ImageHebron / PNN / Radio Dream – The Israeli administration has buried more than 50 percent, or three million tons, of its nuclear and chemical waste in the occupied West Bank.

Most of the waste comes from the Israeli industrial zones and is buried secretly causing slow death and disease as it seeps from the soil, PNN partner station Radio Dream reports. Concentrated in the southern West Bank, officials say that the leaking gases are prohibited internationally and are causing a serious environmental disaster.

An Israeli court issued decisions to close factories established in Israeli cities such as Netanya and Kfar Saba because of the serious consequences to the environment and residents, but moved them to near the West Bank. The waste, having been dumped in the southern West Bank’s Hebron, and Tulkarem and Salfit in the north, is spreading carcinogens and other dangerous substances as reported by PNN’s network partner Radio Dream.

A Hebron citizen said that the Israeli administration did not relocate the factories by coincidence, but rather to target cities close to the Israeli boundaries in order to drive out more Palestinians.

A woman in the southern West Bank says that the aim is to eliminate healthy birth for Palestinians as was the recent case in the Arab section of Beir Aseeba.

Burial is required at 50 meters, but the law is not followed leading to arsenic and methane case leaking from the soil.
