passed away of leukemia Tuesday night.  Hilda was
a strong advocate of human rights and an ardent

Hilda Silverman was a dear dear friend and I am devastated at her loss. We are all impoverished by her passing, even as her legacy lives on.The world is a smaller place without her.

I just wanted to make one correction. The poem you link to about Rachel Corrie is actually my poem; it was published in the magazine of Evergreen, the college Rachel Corrie attended. Hilda loved the poem, with her characteristic enthusiams and generosity, and asked my permission to circulate it; a website then mistakenly posted it under Hilda's name. Hilda wrote to correct the error but it seems it was never taken care of. As far as I'm concerned it is Hilda's poem too, since we shared the same sentiments and passions. But, I wouldn't want someone to accuse me of plagiarism of my own poem, because of a internet confusion! Lisa Suhair Majaj (you can delete this post after making the correction)
