Protesters disrupt Israeli ambassador's speech

In spite of security precautions, some 25 pro-Palestinian
demonstrators pushed their way into a major midtown
hotel to disrupt a luncheon speech by Israeli ambassador
to Canada, Alan Baker.

Shouting 'Free Palestine' and 'Refugees Will Return',
protesters managed to evade hotel security.
Uniformed Montreal police officers burst through two
doors as Baker was in mid-speech.

The demonstrators, part of the social activist group
Tadamon, were forced to leave the Queen Elizabeth Hotel
after some 10 minutes. There were no arrests.

Baker was speaking about Canada-Israel relations to
110 people at a luncheon sponsored by the
Montreal Council on Foreign Relations.
