Palestinian president Mahmud
Abbas on Saturday called on
gunners to stop firing rockets into
Israel from the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip.
In a speech from the presidential
headquarters in the West Bank
town of Ramallah, Abbas also accused
Israel of imposing collective punishment
on the Gazan population by barring
the transfer of food and medical supplies.
"We say to those who fire rockets
-- stop. Do not give them an excuse and do not show the
world that they (Israelis) are the victims," he said.
