Terror in Gaza: Six months since the Hamas takeover
June 15, 2007 - December 15, 2007 16 Dec 2007
This is an official Israeli government report covering the first 6 months of the Hamas takeover of the Gaza Strip:
In the 183 days that have passed since the middle of June, 428 rockets and 590 mortar bombs have been fired from the Gaza Strip at Israeli civilians and soldiers. In addition to damage to property, a number of Israeli civilians were wounded in the attacks, and many more were treated for shock. Detailed full report: http://tinyurl.com/3dczon
And while it is good to hear, that overall deaths are down, I’m afraid we’re going to have to ramp up the Israeli’s responsibility by another 53 to date:
Palestinian-Israeli deaths drop in 2007 - report
By Rebecca Harrison
JERUSALEM (Reuters) - The number of people killed in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict dropped sharply in 2007, but human rights abuses in the Gaza Strip and occupied West Bank increased, an Israeli human rights watchdog said on Monday.
Israeli troops killed 373 Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank in 2007 up to Dec. 29, compared to 657 last year, B'Tselem said in its annual report.
Thirty-five percent of the dead were not involved in hostilities, compared to more than half in 2006.
Palestinians killed seven Israeli civilians -- the lowest number since the outbreak of a Palestinian uprising in 2000 -- and six soldiers, the group said. In 2006, Palestinians killed 17 Israeli civilians.
Despite the lower death toll, B'Tselem said respect for human rights had deteriorated in the Palestinian territories due to an Israeli blockade on Gaza, an increase in the number of Jewish settlers in the West Bank, and a rise in the number of Palestinians held without trial. http://tinyurl.com/2bx2zs
As there is another, ‘real’ terror in Gaza, it’s called ‘getting ill & needing medical treatment.’
Palestinian woman dies after being barred from getting treatment abroad

Palestinian medical sources announced on Friday night the death of a Palestinian woman called Awatif Ibrahim, 52, who was suffering from chronic diseases, because the IOA refused to let her travel to receive necessary medical treatment abroad. Her death brings the number of Palestinian patients that died because of the Israeli unjust siege imposed on the Gaza Strip to 53 victims. The popular committee against siege warned that there is acceleration in the death toll in Gaza (& I can personally vouch for that as my recent comment on Digg suggested, we’re moving up to one a day), stressing that serious symptoms started to appear amongst the Gaza people which foreshadows a serious health disaster. For his part, Khaled Radi, the spokesman for the health ministry in the caretaker government, opined that the number of deaths may double in the presence of more than thousand patients suffering serious illnesses and prevented by the IOA to receive medical treatment abroad.
There are 450 cancer patients in the Gaza Strip, 400 suffering kidney failure, and about 450 patients having heart diseases and their lives are seriously threatened due to lack of medicines and medical equipment as a result of the Israeli siege imposed on the Strip.
