PALESTINIAN RIGHT OF RETURN: THE REDDEST OF ALL REDLINES
WE THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE have been following news of the upcoming Annapolis “Peace Summit†with great apprehension and trepidation. News of the impending conference comes at a time when our people in Palestine are suffering under a suffocating economic and political siege and living in vast and collective prisons; when internal Palestinian divisions are at an all time high; when Palestinian refugees fleeing Iraq are being relocated to Brazil rather then being allowed to return their original towns and villages in Palestine.
WE THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE reject all attempts, be they made by US, European, Arab or officials and leaders, to trust an occupier who has been oppressing, dispossessing and uprooting us for the last six decades.
WE THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE find the current Palestinian leadership's continued engagement in the so-called Peace Process--the very same leadership that failed miserably to deliver on its past attempts to secure our Palestinian national objectives via US-sponsored negotiations--detrimental to our legitimate rights.
WE THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE hereby REAFFIRM our opposition to, and rejection of any conferences, meetings, "agreements", and "understandings" that negate the full and immediate implementation of Right of Return for all Palestinian refugees. Our people's Right of Return to the homes and lands from which they were expelled is an individual, collective right that cannot be abrogated, denied or modified by negotiations or agreements.
WE THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE demand that the current Palestinian leadership reject any plans that fail to include the right of all Palestinian refugees to return to the lands, villages and homes from which they were expelled between 1947 and 1967, and not to some “swapped lands.â€
WE THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE declare as illegitimate and unrepresentative any Palestinian leader or negotiator who accepts, endorses, or remains silent about “solutions†or "agreements" that do not guarantee the immediate return of the Palestinian refugees to their original homes, villages, and towns throughout historic Palestine.
