Recently had the pleasure of getting an education from R. Goldstein on what the Orthodox Jewish community's view constitutes it's reasons for objection to the Zionist foundation of the Modern State of Israel. I found his information revelatory, since I'd not heard this before. I'm a dual national US & Israeli. From what I've seen inside Israel, (and I've lived there 3 separate times ...1970-1971, 1998-1999 and 5 months in 2004)I'm not all that surprised to learn of this situation and history. The Israeli political situation has degraded steadily from my very first visit and has only gotten progressively worse. Now that I understand the Orthodox views (with the history to back them up) I have to agree totally with R. Goldstein. I gave up on the prospect of living in Israel 4 years ago.Thank you! S. L.
