Settlers stone Palestinian woman and children in Hebron
Tel Rumeida, HEBRON–At approximately 17:40 on Wed. May 30, a female Human Rights Worker (HRW) was sat at the top of Tel Rumeida street opposite the Israeli solider post. Four Israeli settler children approached, between the age of 8 – 10 years of age. The settlers proceeded to take out a camera and begin taking photos of the HRW. When the female HRW began filming the incident, the settlers approached her.

Hamas: the assassination in Nablus clouds Abbas-Olmert meeting

A car bomb, allegedly planted by the Israeli military, killed two teenage boys and left scores injured on Wednesday night in the old city of Nablus in the West Bank, said local medical officials.

Jerusalem goes on strike

A general strike was implemented on Thursday in east Jerusalem in protest against the killing of three Palestinians at the site of the illegal wall earlier this week.

Israeli army closes the local vegetable market in Beta town near Nablus

The municipal government of Beta town has condemned the procedures of the Israeli army after the local vegetable market was closed, causing huge problems for local merchants.

Egypt blasts Quartet for blaming recent violence on Palestinians

Alaa el-Hadidy, a spokesman for Egypt's foreign ministry, described the Quartet's statement Thursday as unbalanced. "This is tantamount to giving a green light to Israel to continue its operations in the Palestinian territories," el-Hadidy said in a statement. "The credibility of the Quartet, as a neutral side, is now at stake."

Norway resumes direct aid to Palestinian government

"We hope our contribution will help ease the social crisis the Palestinians are now going through," said Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere. He said the aid will be used to pay wages for civilian public servants.

Officials: Israel ready to transfer withheld tax revenues to PA

Israel has long resisted European calls to transfer Palestinian tax revenues, now totaling some $700 million, to stave off collapse of the Palestinian Authority and bolster PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas... But Israel finds itself increasingly isolated on the money issue. We will Play on our Land
As part of the continuously growing nonviolent movement in the Southern part of Bethlehem, more Palestinians were joined by internationals and Israelis to protest the building of the Wall this Friday through a football/soccer match that was held on the exact path of the wall. Once the wall is constructed 70% of the agricultural land of the southern Bethlehem villages will become prohibited to the farmers. No farming, no playing, no livelihood, and eventually no existence to all Palestinians living in that area.

As soon as we reached the location we were astonished by the number of Israeli soldiers gathered to prevent us from reaching the confiscated land in order to have a sit in with the farmers. The land is located in a valley; Israeli army jeeps and snipers with their faces painted were placed on the top of the hills and between trees to completely surround us. It was as if we were entering an armed battle zone.


South Africa's largest trade union seeks to boycott Israel

South Africa's largest trade union federation will launch a campaign against "the Israeli occupation of Arab lands" this week, demanding that Pretoria impose a boycott on all Israeli goods and break diplomatic relations. South African Intelligence Minister Ronnie Kasrils, who is Jewish, told Haaretz that he actively supported the initiative - which contradicts the policy of his own cabinet.


U.K. public services union to weigh boycott of Israel

The United Kingdom's public services union UNISON will consider a proposal for imposing a boycott on Israel during its annual conference in mid-June, in the wake of Wednesday's decision by British lecturers to boycott Israeli academic institutions. Histadrut sources said the impression they have received is that UNISON will vote in favor of the boycott. The conference will be held June 19-22 in Brighton.

Holding on tight to the frequencies

Iraq's bloodiest month for US troops since Fallujah invasion
