"Beyond the restrictions imposed by the sanctions themselves, the vote sets stage for harsher measures that the United States and the EU have promised to enact on their own once they had the imprimatur of the United Nations"
I suppose this means a green light for Israel to act on its own while Israel's nuclear capabilities remain a secret and it is not a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. I just wonder why this is called the UN "Security" Council? Should anyone feel secure knowing that a paranoid Israel has nuclear weapons and that the United States honors its secrecy?
It's too bad that the USA and the European Union have not acted on behalf of the Palestinians with so many outstanding UN Resolutions going back for decades.
