Solidarity In Action is a new undertaking of the PoliticalTheatrics team which promotes indivisibility with our Palestinian brethren through basic activism.
We often witness readers of PoliticalTheatrics declare that they wish there was a chance for them to “do more” for the Palestinians and the Palestinian cause – as of January 25th, 2010 S.I.A was created in order to promote action for Palestine through means that are simple yet reputable enough to be considered as forms of activism.
The concept behind this weekly program is simple and oftentimes does not involve you to leave the sanctity of your home, nor does it require you to spend any money.
The PoliticalTheatrics team will advertise a weekly event which describes a company or organization that is either blatantly pro-Israel or one which funds the Zionist state discreetly. After this organization/company has been displayed you are to:
1.Place a phone-call to the said organization/company wherein you give your critical opinion on their involvement with the state of Israel
and/or
2.Send them an email wherein you give your critical opinion on their involvement with the state of Israel.
Before you get excited, we must make it clear that there are guidelines each and every entry must follow:
1.Do not be vulgar – no cursing, perverse language,Ad Hominem attacks etc
2.Support what you say – critiquing their involvement on emotional contentions leads to a flawed argument thus we ask you to substantiate what you say.
3. Be passionate – though we ask you not to attack the company/organization this does not mean you cannot be passionate and even loud! This, after all, is an opportunity to make your voice heard!
4. Document your S.I.A- try and record your phone-call and save any reply you may receive from an email.
If you happen to document any S.I.A we ask that you shoot us an email with copies of your emails and any audio/visual evidence if you choose to place a phone-call.
Solidarity In Action, though starting out as weekly activism, hopes to turn into a movement wherein everyone can get involved.
It is our way of making sure no one has an excuse not to take action;further proving that even the most basic forms of activism are still just as powerful!
Stay tuned for further updates.
